The MT3608 is a compact, high-efficiency step-up (boost) DC-DC converter module that increases a lower input voltage to a higher, adjustable output voltage — the opposite function of the LM2596S buck converter sourced earlier in this batch. It accepts input from 2V to 24V DC and boosts it to an adjustable output up to 28V, with a maximum output current of 2A (1A–1.5A continuous is more typical depending on the voltage step). It operates at a 1.2MHz switching frequency, enabling the use of small, low-cost capacitors and inductors, and includes under-voltage lockout, current limiting, thermal overload protection, and internal soft-start to reduce inrush current. Commonly used in battery-powered and portable devices such as power banks, and for powering small DC motors or circuits needing a higher voltage than the source battery provides.
