Description

The ATmega16A-PU is a low-power CMOS 8-bit microcontroller based on the AVR enhanced RISC architecture, achieving throughputs approaching 1 MIPS per MHz by executing powerful instructions in a single clock cycle. The device features 16KB of self-programming flash program memory, 1024B SRAM, 512-byte EEPROM, an 8-channel 10-bit A/D converter, and a JTAG interface for on-chip debugging, achieving 16 MIPS throughput at 16MHz operating between 2.7V and 5.5V. The AVR core combines a rich instruction set with 32 general-purpose working registers, all directly connected to the ALU for efficient single-cycle instruction execution. With 32 programmable I/O lines (more than the 23 on the ATmega328P), it’s well suited for designs needing extra GPIO, motor control PWM, or JTAG debug capability.
