The AMS1117-ADJ is the adjustable version of the AMS1117 low dropout regulator series, delivering up to 1A load current with a dropout of roughly 2.5V-equivalent behavior at full load (dropout characteristics match the fixed-output family). Unlike the fixed-voltage versions, it provides an output voltage adjustable from 1.25V to 12V using just two external resistors, offering flexible power rail design for a wide range of circuits. It includes thermal shutdown and current-limit functions to assure chip and power system stability, with output accuracy trimmed to within 2% (custom 1% accuracy available on request). Packaged in the SOT-223 surface-mount format, sold as a pack of 5 ICs.
